Of all the Cave Games that we wait, it had to be this one? Such disappointment, I mean gameplay is flat without the usual depth, backgrounds, artsy 2D... Bring us Ketsui, Akai Katana, Ibara instead!

The is mind blowing as you would expect from a game in this series. Perfect for newbies or veterans of the series
You guys really make the best games on the iOS store!
I played almost all Cave games and they are absolutely the best in class, especially I like Espgaluda 2. In terms of touch control wise I think this game is using scaled mapping instead of 1-to-1 mapping compared to the other Cave shmups, i.e. the ship is not moving the exact distance as where the finger moves. Please implement the 1-to-1 touch control mapping in the next release and the game will be perfect!
Cave games are not cheap, but with the higher price comes exceptionally high production value and quality. Ive played a lot of ios shooters, but after playing a Cave shooter, everything else feels barren and lacking compared to the rich environments of Cave games. Dodonpachi is my favourite series from Cave, and ddp Max just cranks the exhilarating gameplay up a notch. This game is techno art; artistically unique and visually mind blowing. If you were caught in the world of TRON, and were playing a video game, it would probably look like this. Futuristic, fast, screen-shaking. It really is an experience to behold. And it looks great on the retina displays of the iPad 3 and iPhone 4s. No slow downs in the gameplay. A worthy addition to the Dodonpachi series. Keep up the good work, Cave!
Between the awesome visuals, excellent soundtrack, and responsive gameplay, I dont regret this purchase. Havnt tried it on the iPhone yet, but handles very well on the iPad.
Yeah its cool for 5 min but it gets boring after not worth the money at all I would probably say that its worth 99c to $1.99
Very tough, not for everyone. That being said, CAVE is one of the best in the world at making bullet hell games. If you enjoy the genre, the price of entry is totally worth it.
Classic bullet hell game with good mechanics, controls and challenge.
iPhone 4 以降が動作対象機種になっているのに、iPhone 5Sと同程度の性能があるiPod touch 6thになぜか非対応。
Another brilliant shmup from Cave. Buy it now!
BRING IT ON DOWN! The Ketsui level brought back wonderful memories, and the Dangun Feveron fan service in the Uo-Poko ship is awesome.
I am really glad this game made its way to iOS. The one finger control means no more touch button smashing to get high scores, just pure dodging and shooting. More original smartphone games please! P.S. Thanks for the Dangun Feveron ship :D
Please make compatible for ipod touch, thanks!
Bought the game at 9pm didnt think it would be out this early, anyways great game worth the price.
I love the crisp graphics of this one. Everything is so smooth. Definitely a shmup designed for the touch screen.
But still very fun and it still blows other iPhone danmaku shooters out of the water. Get it while its on sale and you wont be disappointed.
One of the only Japanese developers who know how to translate old school gameplay to modern tech without losing much, if anything. Support their releases if you (like me) already feel worn out by most iOS game tropes.
Cave is my favorite shmup developer of all time. In fact, when I go back and play the classics I loved growing up I dont think any of them live up to the standard that Cave has set within the genre. This game has a cool premise, in that it is a bullet hell simulator...sort of like a virtual Tron-esque shoot em up. Very cool idea. The graphics are very unique to the genre, and I love how everything looks pixelated on purpose (your ship even leaves a ghost like pixelate trail behind as you move around the screen). The biggest problem though, is that all the levels looks way too similar. If I were to look at screenshots of all of the levels in the game Id be hard pressed to notice any differences. Even if they switched up the color schemes that would have been cool...but its like youre playing the same level over and over but with different enemy patterns. The only other issue I have is that the weapons are kind of bland...if there are any upgrades I guess I failed to notice them. Other than those 2 gripes though, its still a Cave shooter and it controls PERFECTLY on my iphone 4. I remember when I downloaded the my first Cave game for iOS, I had a very hard time believing that the control on a small touch screen device could rival or even eclipse the accuracy of playing a shmup on my Xbox 360. But Cave somehow pulled it off! In fact I prefer playing Espgaluda 2 on my iphone over my xbox...its like shmups were made to have touch screen controls all along...its much more fluid movement in my opinion. So all in all, this is a solid release....its just not as awesome as Espgaluda, Bug Princess or the other Dodonpachis on itunes.
Probably their best mobile game yet.
